The Orangeville Foot Clinic treats various Achille’s tendon conditions. It's the thickest and strongest tendon in the body. It is situated in the back of the leg and connects the calf muscles to the heel bone. Achilles tendonitis is an over use injury and the pain can usually be felt at the insertion of the tendon to the heel bone, or about 4cm above the heel bone.

Symptoms may include:

  • Pain and stiffness along the Achilles tendon in the morning
  • Severe pain the day after exercising
  • Thickening of the tendon
  • Swelling that is present all the time and becomes worse throughout the day with activity
