Morton's Neuroma or Plantar Digital Neuroma is a spasmodic neurological pain in the forefoot. It causes sensations of numbness and tingling in the area affected, often relieved by taking off the shoes. It is usually felt on the bottom of the foot in the 2nd-3rd or 3rd-4th spaces.

Symptoms may include:

  • normally no visual signs or lumps
  • burning sensation in the ball of the foot radiating into the toes
  • pain generally intensifies with activity or wearing shoes
  • may be numbness or an unpleasant feeling in the toes
  • Electrical shock sensation radiating back through the foot and up the leg.
