Achilles Tendinitis
Achilles tendinitis is a common cause of pain at the back of the heel and ankle, often related to overuse, strain, or biomechanical factors. Symptoms may include stiffness, tenderness, swelling, and pain with walking or activity.
Diagnosis is based primarily on clinical assessment. Diagnostic ultrasound or MRI may be used when needed to confirm the condition, while X-rays are not typically helpful for diagnosing tendon injury.
Treatment focuses on reducing strain and inflammation and may include cold laser therapy, heel lifts, orthotics, footwear modification, taping, and padding. Care is individualized based on symptoms, activity level, and contributing factors.
